چکیده

Angiotensin II (ATII) causes through the central nervous mechanism certain cardiovascular disorders. Th e participation of a central nervous component in the genesis of cardiac arrhythmia caused by Angiotensin is stated. Th e present paper describes the action exerted by ATII on the cardiac rhythm, after intracerebroventricular administration (icv) in rats anesthetized with ethylic urethane. Th e disorders of the cardiac rhythm induced by the ATII may be prevented or attenuated by blocking the AT1 receptors with and adequate antagonist, administered through icv.

Blockade of Central Angiotensin II AT1 Receptor Protects the Brain from Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Normotensive Rats

Background: Stroke is the third leading cause of invalidism and death in industrialized countries. There are conflicting reports about the effects of Angiotensin II on ischemia-reperfusion brain injuries and most data have come from chronic hypertensive rats. In this study, hypotensive and non-hypotensive doses of candesartan were used to investigate the effects of angiotensin II AT1 receptor b...

Aldosterone acting through the central nervous system sensitizes angiotensin II-induced hypertension.

Previous studies have shown that preconditioning rats with a nonpressor dose of angiotensin II (Ang II) sensitizes the pressor response produced by later treatment with a higher dose of Ang II and that Ang II and aldosterone (Aldo) can modulate each other's pressor effects through actions involving the central nervous system. The current studies tested whether Aldo can cross-sensitize the press...

The effects of Mas receptor antagonist (A779) and renal perfusion pressure on serum nitrite concentration in male and female rats when angiotensin II receptors 1 & 2 were blocked

Introduction: Renin angiotensin system has an important role in blood pressure and renal functions. Active angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 converts angiotensin I into angiotensin-(1-7) which is a vasodilator hormone and interacts with nitric oxide changes as well as other angiotensin II receptors. In this study we evaluated the role of Mas receptor antagonist (A779) and renal perfusion press...

Central nervous system pressor responses in rats susceptible and resistant to sodium chloride hypertension.

1. The pressor responses to hypertonic saline and angiotensin II introduced into the left lateral ventricle were both significantly greater in salt-sensitive (S) rats compared with salt-resistant (R) rats, with all rats on a low Na diet. 2. When S rats were given thiazide to nullify the pressor effect of dietary NaCl, their blood pressure averaged only 5 mmHg higher than that of the R rats; nev...

Interaction of intracerebroventricular injection of captopril and histamine on water intake in adult male Wistar rats

Several evidences have indicated that many nuclei in the brain have critical role in water intake. Angiotensin II is one of the most important neurotransmitters involved in regulation of fluid homeostasis. In this study, the interaction of i.c.v. injection of captopril and histamine on water intake in adult male water-deprived rats was investigated. Rats were implanted with guide cannula aimed ...
